Group 2!

Last week, on 22nd August, Mrs. Wiwin told the class to find news on the internet and identify the structure. She said that we have to write the news and its structure on paper and then hang it on the wall so we can go window shopping! :D

I was in group two with Khairul, Ratu, and Rizmi. We immediately find the shortest news possible on the internet because the time was very limited (we wanted longer news at first). Then, Khairul found the news about a false cargo smoke warning on a flight. It was only four paragraphs. Short and quite interesting news. I thought that the news could be longer as I was wondering why did the false warning happened but there was no explanation.

We wrote the news and decorated it with airplanes, stars, and a window-plane view (it was Khairul's masterpiece!) Ratu was very creative with the way she handwrote the title and subtitles. I helped wrote the whole news. I was a little disappointed that the paragraph looked crowded, but it's already written. Rizmi helped with the structure identification and the questions making. We worked for the time given (although it was a bit late, hehe).

After we finished, we hung our work on the wall and the class went window shopping. It was a fun experience to see our friends' work and their news choice. We got to score each of their works with stars. Some news was so long, one was so short just like our group's, and one was a little unfamiliar. It was all fun and game until we went back to our work and found out that we got very low stars. But it was not a big deal, we just brushed it off. Though I personally think my group's work was the most cheerful one.

Mrs. Wiwin also told us to make five questions regarding the text we chose. Below are the questions we made. Try to answer the question if you can!

1. Why did the plane perform emergency landing?

2. When did the plane perform emergency landing?

3. How did the emergency landing go?

4. What can be concluded from the text?

5. How was IndiGo respond to the accident?

Everyone did a great job in their group. It was interesting to read their news choices also with the short time given which made it a little challenging. We had to read and understand it fast enough so we have enough time to score it too. I really like the news in one of my friends' work. I forgot who did it, but it was the longest and it was hung in the windows side of the class. It was a really long text which is a big effort to write and pretty interesting news too! Great job to them and everyone! Here's thumbs up from I-forgot-who.

And here is cute little Jambo who listened along with the class to Mrs. Wiwin's explanation about News Items~
